Kinabalu National Park and Poring Hot Spring

Kinabalu Park, about two hours and half leisure drive from the city of Kota Kinabalu. It is the home to the world’s diverse flora and fauna. The diversity of plant life which has been preserved hundred of years ago makes it a worthwhile visit. Another tourist attraction spot is the Poring Hot Spring which is 40 km away from the National Park area. It is one of the Sabah’s top tourism destinations. The main attraction which draws visitors to Poring Hot Spring is of course the hot spring. It is believed that the hot spring water has a therapeutic effect on tired and distended muscles. Besides that, there are also other interesting areas in the park to be visited such as the butterfly farm, the Poring orchid conservation centre, the tropical garden, the Poring canopy walkway and the Rafflesia flower site.

Tour Itinerary / Day Trip

08:00 am

Depart from Kota Kinabalu.

09:30 am

Stop at Pekan Nabalu for 45 minutes to get a magnificent view of the Kinabalu Mountain’s summit and take a good browse of some of the popular tropical fruits and local souvenirs in the market.

10:00 am

Arriving at the Kinabalu Park. Visit the exhibition centre and Mountain garden. Take some short walks through the jungle trails to enjoy and experience the beauty of the tropical rainforest.

11:30 am

Lunch in Pekan Ranau.

01:30 pm

Arriving at Poring Hot Spring. Visit the orchid garden, butterfly farm, tropical garden and also experience a must visit tree top canopy walk (157m long and 41m high) to watch the ecological system of the upper strata of the forest. Also take time to refresh yourself by soaking in sulphurous water in the open air bath pools.

05:00 pm

Dinner at Gayang Restaurant, Tuaran (optional).

07:30 pm

Arriving Kota Kinabalu (end of tour).
